Kansas City Cow Parade 2001
For the summer of 2001, Kansas City is hosting a cow parade. Now given that KC is known as "Cow Town", you'd think that this was a slam-dunk for coming here, but you'd be surprised. There evidently was some consternation amongst the town-folk, but eventually the forces of good won out and now we have over 200 cows in and around the area.
This spring, the local paper ran a big spread on the cows and after reading it, we decided to take on a family quest to visit all 200+ cows. Of course no one would believe we had accomplished our goal unless we had evidence, and so that is what you have here.

24 June - The Plaza - This was our first outing to find Cows. When it was done, Nicholas wanted to know if we were going to have to go back to the "hot village" again. |

28 June - JCCC - One evening we journeyed over to the Johnson County Community College were there was a fairly sizeable herd. We were especially interested in the 5 cows sponsored by Ray's office. |

01 July - KC Area - Today we decided to hit a number of different areas and so were were all over downtown KC. Nicholas swears that Missouri is the hottest place he has ever been. |

28 July - Crown Center - For this trip, Nicholas and Tyler were accompanied by a brother and sister who live in the neighborhood. |

29 July - Shawnee Mission Park - On Sunday, we took a quick swing by Shawnee Mission Park to check in on their herd. |

04 August - Northgate Park and KC Area - The boys and I decided to take some time today and venture out into the sweltering heat to see if we could find the Northgate Fountain and Park. After that, we swung through KC and hit a few other herds. |

05 August - Prairie Village - After a Sunday brunch at IHOP, we went out to Prairie Village. |

09 August - Wizard of Oz Cows - Trisch and the boys went out to revisit the Wizard of Oz herd and get pictures of the new Wicked Witch cow. |

11 August - Starlight Theater and Zoo - Next stop was the Starlight Theater and the Zoo. |

23 August - Cleanup at the Plaza - With Kiley just 4 days old, we took her out to see the last of the unseen cows at the Plaza. |

26 August - Cleanup at the Crown Center - Here was an opportunity to get the rest of the cows as Crown Center and Union Station |

01 September - In and Around KC - Pickins' are gettin mighty slim at this point. Longer drives for fewer cows.... |

06 September - Final Round - With one last whirlwind tour of KC and its environs, we got in these last 8 cows. |
